Location: Chicago, IL

Being a type-A person means that I love to have every aspect of my upcoming future planned and thought out, leaving no room for surprises. However, I recently had an opportunity to take a spontaneous trip to a city I had never visited before. Follow me along as I explore the uncharted paths of Chicago and my newfound spontaneity.

Getting on the plane in California and getting off the plane in Illinois were two completely different experiences temperature-wise. Don’t get me wrong – I liked the refreshing change. While year-round mild weather is convenient, there is something about a crisp Fall day that gives me the smiles. Plus, the colder weather helped me to discover that I am hot chocolate obsessed.

The hot chocolate that I am holding in the above photo is from one of my favorite breakfast places in Chicago, Wildberry Cafe and Pancakes. It is across the street from Millennium park (the location of the giant shiny bean) and the menu features unique, delicious twists on breakfast classics. Big fan.

Featured Outfit: Layering Layers

This outfit features a black and cream layered tank under a long mauve cardigan/coat with black jeans. The multiple layers give the look depth and help me stay nice and (relatively) warm.
