Contrast naturally captivates the eye and grabs the attention of the viewer. It’s an element that is (maybe subconsciously) attractive because it makes the features pop. I think that’s one of the reasons why I find the lace/mesh effect in this black romper (similar here) so gorgeous. Against the skin, the mesh color becomes tan, allowing the opaque floral detailing to decorate the body.
I love how this piece plays with cutouts in multiple ways. In addition to the mesh effect, there are also small cutouts lining the trim and cutting through the waistline.
My favorite part of the romper is the back, where the mesh covers the entire upper area, allowing for a surplus of floral detailing (and who doesn’t want that?).
I accessorized with a Y-shaped gold necklace to frame the deep V neckline.
I got this romper and this necklace at a cute little boutique called Miss Match in Ocean Beach, CA. This is a perfect outfit for when you need to get dressed quickly but you still want to look put together. Gotta love the ease of rompers in the summertime.
