The bustle of a city is unlike anything else. A day spent roaming a metropolis can fill me with the powerful combination of inspiration and energy. But sometimes I crave a slower pace. An opportunity to delve into the intricacies of the seemingly simple.
My favorite small town that I’ve visited so far is Vico Equense, Italy (pictured below). This tight-knit village is rich in personality and idyllic scenes. Wandering through the square and the surrounding areas was one of the most serene experiences of my life. My sister and I came across a park adorned with Summer blooms and backed by the picturesque Italian coast. We spent hours just sitting on a bench, enjoying our front row seat. I’ve had a soft spot for small towns for a long time. But that day in the park at Vico Equense gave me a new appreciation for these little pockets of magic.
… which brings me to my travel bucket list. Below are 10 charming European small towns that I want to (and will) visit someday.
